Red Side Story by Jasper Fforde
Imagine a world where your position in society depended on what bit of the colour spectrum you could see. This is the world inhabited by Eddie Russett (red, middle-level) and Jane Grey (monochromatic, lowest in society). Eddie and Jane must negotiate the delicate Chromatic politics of society to find out what the ‘Something that Happened’ actually was, how society got to be this way, and crucially, is there Somewhere Else beyond their borders – and if there is, could there be Someone Else, too, someone whose unseen hand has been guiding the fortunes and misfortunes of the nation for the past 500 years?
It’s a tale of a young couple’s thirst for justice and answers in an implacably rigid society, where the prisoners are also the guards, and cages of convention bind the citizens to only one way of thinking – or suffer the consequences. . ..
The long awaited and anticipated follow up to the marvellous Shades of Grey this was pre-ordered as soon as I could make it happen! Eddie and Jane are characters that I’ve never forgotten about and I’m thrilled we will get to spend more time with them.

The Ink Black Heart By Robert Galbraith
I love this series and can’t wait to catch up with Robin and Strike again, this series has gone from strength to strength. There isn’t a blurb for this one yet that I can find but that doesn’t really matter at this point in a series where I’ve enjoyed every other book so far.
The Ink Black Heart is due to publish in August 2022
Hide by Kiersten White
The challenge: spend a week hiding in an abandoned amusement park and don’t get caught.
The prize: enough money to change everything.
Even though everyone is desperate to win – to seize their dream futures or escape their haunting pasts – Mack feels sure that she can beat her competitors. All she has to do is hide, and she’s an expert at that.
It’s the reason she’s alive, and her family isn’t.
But as the people around her begin disappearing one by one, Mack realizes this competition is more sinister than even she imagined, and that together might be the only way to survive.
Fourteen competitors. Seven days. Everywhere to hide, but nowhere to run.
Come out, come out, wherever you are.
I’m a big fan of Kiersten’s writing style and I love the sound of this one, a definite for my tbr.
