Blog Tour: The Nameless by Stuart White

In a dystopian world dominated by genetic perfection and numbered gene pools, sixteen-year-old E820927, known as Seven, yearns for an identity beyond his assigned number.

To escape a life as a Nameless Exile, and become a citizen of the Realm, he must pass a loyalty test to prove his allegiance to the totalitarian Autokratōr.

With the world’s fate hanging in the balance, Seven’s journey sparks rebellion, hope, and the reclamation of individuality.

But as the truth unfolds, Seven faces a difficult choice between revenge and love.

I was delighted to have the opportunity to take part in a blog tour for this book with The Write Reads. I enjoyed reading this one a lot. I will say that for a book marketed as YA this is more brutal and violent than I anticipated – not a problem for me but it may be for others.

E820927 or Seven as we know him is a likeable main character – although he sometimes makes some – interesting – choices. All children of Autokrator are assigned numbers rather than names at birth – a name is something that must be earnt and there is nothing Seven wants more than his own name, to be treated as a person.

His relationships with others, especially his friend Six are well written. It was nice to see how they all developed over the course of the story.

It’s very hard to talk too much about plot without giving a lot away so I’ll just finish up by saying, if you like your dystopian books on the brutal side then you will probably enjoy this one.
